Defying Gravity

Just spent the past three days in a rather celebratory mood. It was seriously one of the most hectic weekends we've had in a long while... more hectic than the holidays even! But it was all worth it to see friends we haven't seen in a long while... and even better, we had the kids with us! (I always feel guilty when we don't bring Chloe and Cole along, so this was great!)

When: Friday, Feb 16
Where: French Corner, Westgate Alabang
Why: Fiel's surprise bday party
Rundown: Around 530ish, we all headed to Alabang to attend a special birthday surprise dinner that Fiel's mom was holding for Fiel! It was so wonderful to see Louie's old officemates from Accenture and reminisce about old times. Chloe had a ball playing with helium balloons (she usually only gets to play with regular air ballons, so she was jazzed with how the balloons were flying and all). The food was terrific, the company was wonderful! We got home around midnight.
Funny moment: We forgot to feed Chloe real food because she was so enamoured with the helium ballons.
Even more special: Rony arrived from HKG at midnight!

When: Saturday, Feb 17
Where: Tita Lolly's house
Why:Chinese New Year Party of Tita Lolly (aka Josh's mom)
Rundown: After lunch with Rony and some quick malling at the Block, we headed over to New Manila for what would be a funfilled evening! It was our first Chinese New year party ever. And that house... I had been there often enough for it to hold High School special memories... it was so beautifully lit. The food was exquisite, the company was divine! Chloe had a wonderful time dragging Bianca around the garden. I got to see my god child Kate and Cole got to see his god mother Charmaine. (Cole then spent the rest of the night sleeping in one of the rooms in the main house.) The kids were captivated by the Lion dance and we absolutely loved the fireworks. Josh and Rony topped off the evening with a serenade. We all went home around 1ish -- and Chloe and Cole were wide awake!
Even more special: Ron, Charmaine, Bianca and Katie were there!

When: Sunday, Feb 18
Where: Green Meadows Clubhouse
Why:Baptism and First Year Birthday Party of Anthony
Rundown: We were so doggone tired from the night before but we had to be up early to be at the Christ the King church by 10am. We were late by 15 minutes but luckily didn't miss any part of the baptism, where Louie was a ninong to Anthony. The party started around lunch time at the nearby clubhouse with the Bob the Builder theme! Toys and games galore for the kids. The food was scrumptious, the company was great! And ooh, I absolutely love Mad Scientist at kiddie birthday parties!
Even more special: After the party, we all hung out at Rony and Andrei's room at Discovery. Well, more like we all took a long nap. After everyone was rested, Louie and Chloe went swimming!
