Harry Potter and the Fake Book

Ok, roughly two weeks ago, someone in the network posted an electronic copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Halllows." And since I have every intention of buying the actual book, I saw no harm in going ahead, downloading and starting the read. I love Harry Potter and when there was no internet connection at the office the other day, I took the liberty of reading some chapters.

It was interesting. I actually got a bit excited. I read ten chapters.

Bloody hell! It was fake!!! It wasn't HP and the Deathly Hallows. (But I must say, whoever took the time to write out a whole fake one, man, hats off to ya!)

Anyway, I got my copy yesterday and have been pleasantly reading the real thing. I love Harry Potter. So far, I can't put the book down...

Getting Older

I think I am feeling older by the day. I think it happens when you become a mom. Going to bed is an entire production number. As is having a meal. Or going to the mall. Or attending a party. Having to schedule everything you want to do (like going to the salon) around when kids are asleep or awake. Even watching a DVD takes planning. I have to say it's all quite tiring (even with some help).

I wouldn't change it for a second -- these two kids are my whole life. I can't even imagine how things would be today without them. Chloe is just so bloody amazing at times. The conversations we have, sometimes, I feel like I'm talking to an adult! Plus of course, every freakin' thing is answered with "why" which can ultimately be really really frustrating. She's quite hardheaded though... and her behavior sometimes borders on bratty. It's hard being a mom... every little thing your kid does is automatically a reflection of how you raise her. Ack! Can you imagine all those judgmental looks?!? Hey you try raising a kid! And yet, the second anyone says anything about your kid, it's defense mode. I love her, she's mine and only I can talk about her faults without taking offense. Hahaha. The irony of it all.

Cole, at 10 months, smiles and smiles all the time. (Must be all that breastmilk.) Barely cries unless he's really really pissed off, which isn't often. He's trying to walk now and is so eager to get on the floor and do his thing. He's also actually playing with us now (peek-a-boo), which is delightful. Chloe adores him and often kisses him when he's asleep and says "I love my baby brother." Awww.

Kids really do make everything so worthwhile.

How do you get older without getting old? There's gotta be a way...
