Waiting for Life to Begin

Its a Monday again. Feeling fairly lazy. But I had a generally terrific weekend and am now broke. Sigh. The irony of it all.

Last Saturday, I went with Louie and his dad who had a meeting with a client in Galleria Suites. Thought I'd hang around Robinson's Galleria since it was on SALE. So I'm there waiting at the steps at around 930am and I decide to sit there waiting... didn't want to spend P95 on a freeze blended drink at Gloria Jeans. Then people slowly arrive and start standing in front of the door (someone actually even tried to open the door) and I'm thinking weird... I mean does it make that much of a difference if you were first to get in or 30th to get in? Its all the same, but the way some people were lined up its like they absolutely had to be in there before anyone else... just a strange observation.

Anyway, I bought Chloe a BRATZ shirt which read "I am beautiful!" (very stage mommy of me) after I chicked out of buying a complete skirt and top outfit for her (also BRATZ) because my practical side decided to kick in (after all, my daughter has ALOT of clothes, some not even worn yet because she doesn't seem to get any bigger). I also got Rony more stuff for his would-be apartment in Hong Kong. More stuff for the kitchen!

We met Omar in the evening and found out that CAFEA here in QC gives you free WI-FI access!!! That is soo cool! I want a laptop just like Omar's!!! Wait, um, I have a pretty nice laptop although it ain't really mine. I should get a WI-FI card though... note to self...

Sunday we woke up bright and early to go to the 168 mall in Divisoria. May I tell you how cheap it is there? I mean designer bags galore like in Greenhills at half the price!!!
I loved it, and I bought 3 bags (Benetton, Channel and one other fake brand hee hee ) and it was only P740 for three gorgeous bags! And fake sunglasses at 3 for a hundred? (there are even more expensive ones at like P120 each if you
want the more "pricey" ones. ) I was in heaven!!!
Louie and I also bought Chloe some nice stretch sandoes and sunglasses, while we got tool gadgets and lots of material for Rony (we're having clothes made for him before he leaves.) It was truly a fun experience. The airconditioning was strong so it was quite cool. "I loved it every moment, dahling!" (in Incredibles edna mode voice)

I'm always happy when we get great deals... at the mall, at Divisoria, anything. That's actually why I miss the States so much. Louie and I were always such excellent bargain hunters over there (example folks... I bought my Ann Taylor business suite for 45 dollars!) and it was always such a great feeling afterwards. Locally, there are sales, but heck nothing quite as "oh my God!" as outlet deals.

I wouldn't be me if I didn't brag about Chloe. My little girl is all growed up.

Rony leaves in 2 weeks. I don't know if it just hasn't quite it me yet... he's practically one of my best friends (because who elso can you bitch to about your mother who ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT? ) He was in the Inquirier yesterday you know... am so proud... I was actually mentioned in the article too ( I was one of the sisters who were "aghast" at his appearance on Live with Martin Nievera!) Anyway, he's here for two weeks, I guess I'll cry when we bring him to the airport...

Joy updated her Phlog with pictures... wow, Joy, I tell you, its like seeing Midland-Bay City-Saginaw all over again. It looks so similar! Shit. I miss the States.

I'm waiting for business to take off... and I want it so badly. I want all the great things to happen now... and yet I know I have to have faith that "God knows my schedule." (As Rony so loves to put it). Its not that I want to move out of my in-laws house (because I love living there actually). Its not that I want to be rich quickly either. Its just that I feel there is still so much to prove... to me anyway. I'm not sure if anyone out there understands it really.

Ramblings of a 30-year old. Sigh. It's like I'm "waiting for life to begin" (ah, Ti Moune)... oh well. Maybe I should buy another fake bag... (padampam)

In the Middle of the Night

Ok. Its 4am and I am wide awake. Had to finish the Archangel website because we have a print ad tomorrow and I'm expecting people to log in. Drank 1 can of pineapple juice and a can of Coke. I'm awake.

It's Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to me!

I think I'll attempt to sleep now. Catcha later.

So much happiness

So I'm setting up another BLOG to shield my real thoughts about mother from unknowing relatives who decide to look up Chloe's blog when I send pictures. Probably a wise thing to do. Although honestly, I'm sure their own moms were terrors in the same way. Sigh. God, please inflicting such psychological pain on my future children.

Ok, so I'll be all nice and proper in Chloe's blog. No more bitching about mommy dear there. Here... woohoo... its a free country. Monster mother update later.

It is finished. Finally, Scotty-the-body has left the building!!! Its about time. Weird how when Simon says something nice to Scott that's when Scott actually gets the boot. Reverse psychology! Based on performances the other night, Anthony shoulda gone home though... although I think the American Public was kinda taken aback by how Constantine was taken out that they thought to correct that mistake this week. (Ah, the LaToya London-Jasmine Trias scenario reborn). And all is right in the world again.

Am going to a fundraising thing this evening. One of Mirzi's brilliant lawyer friends who got kidnapped and somehow paralyzed from the neck down so he needs money for a stem-cell thingamajiggy in China. I don't really know all the details -- I do know that I'd be lucky to have friends who would put together a fundraising event to help me out like that. So tonight, its a dinner and a show by the Spirit of '67 (Louie and I love our old music!)

Had dinner with Raffy last night and boy, you never realize how much time has passed until you see your old friends. :-) There is so much going on at dear old DLSU that I'm actually kinda stunned. Whew! And guess what folks, tuition is apparently like 50 thou now a trimester so you can bet by the time your children go there it should cost like 100 something thou. Yikes.

Rony's leaving in a few weeks. You know I'm so excited for him. A little scared for me because now I'm left with monster woman and my Dad. Sigh. Those are the breaks. I miss Midland.

Chloe moment: She picks up her toy cellphone and starts talking. "Hi Daddy! I'm fine, thank you soooo much!"

Strange kid! You know, I really do think she has the makings of an actress - she'll cry, frown, smile on cue. Well, after all her grandma Josephine is the ultimate drama queen! (pa-dam-pam!) Yep. I'm still mad.

Monster Mom Update: She texts me the other day saying she loves me no matter what. She must be dying to see Chloe. Was tempted to answer her text with "well if that were remotely true, you wouldnt keep fighting with me and trying to make my life utter hell." The sucky part is its Mother's day on Sunday and since I refuse to be a hypocrite, I don't even want to have a meal with her. Louie and I will just greet her "Blank" Mother's Day... cause it sure as hell aint "happy."

On to happier thoughts... I can't wait to go to Hong Kong and see IKEA. Happy happy joy joy!!!

Ok, back to work. Am at peace knowing Scott Savol is outta there. :-)

Take A Message

Its was the last day of the long weekend yesterday. Why would anyone feel it necessary to make May 2 a holiday? I mean, so what if May 1 fell on a Sunday? I mean really, its pretty pointless...

AI Trauma: Constantine is out. Now I know he wasn't a great singer.. and the googly eyes do get unnerving. But man, I'm sorry but Scott should have been the one to leave last week. At least Constantine was a performer. Off-key yes, but a performer nonetheless. I almost cried.

Went to the big sale at Megamall last Friday and Saturday. I love sales, but sometimes with the number of people in there, you lose your appetite for shopping.

Proud buys as a kikay girl: 7 pairs of earrings from the Bead Shop for less than P300. Louie helped me pick em.
Proud buys as a Mommy: 8 great cartoons on VCD for Chloe and Kimmy (her cousin) to watch in the car or at Frisco. Imagine only P75 each for the real thing - Lion King, Alladin, Lilo & Stitch, Barney at the Zoo, the Tramp II and a couple of Sesame street shows. Very happy.

Monster Mom update: She's sending me backstabbing email again. Hay. To answer back or not to answer back... that is the question. I cried again, but this time recovered in a minute. Wrote a REALLY NASTY email back, but then better judgement entered my head and I didn't send it. [Plus our DSL was down at the time.] Crap. I hate it when I can't be spontaneous and common sense gets in the way. That woman really needs a hobby or something.

Find out last week's Chloe's cutesy moments.

God, I love that kid. I want another one actually, but I told Louie I want to arrange it so that I'm not 5-8 months pregnant during Christmas, the time where you see all your relatives and they say, "Wow, you've gained so much weight!" Yes, I'm vain. But I'm honest unlike my mother. [pa-dam-pam!]

Ooh, announcement! Joy finally got a computer! After months of bickering and whining, she actually got one! Am so happy for you, sis! Now we can chat a whole lot more and I can bitch about being stuck with your mother here after Rony leaves! Argh!

Thank God for blogs. I need an outlet. And since my dear brother and sister have decided to leave the country, I'm going to make sure they can hear me bitch practically every day! Haha, it'll feel like they're back home!

I love Chloe. I love Louie. I love Rony. I love Joy. I love my Dad... um, am I missing anyone? [Pa-dam-pam!]
